Opening Ceremony

Begin your IFSCC 2026 experience with a Welcome to Country — a living cultural tradition rooted in the world’s oldest continuous civilisation, shared by the Traditional Custodians of this land.

 

It’s powerful, grounding, and uniquely Australian. There’s nowhere else on Earth you can experience this. The ceremony is inseparable from the land it belongs to.

 

Wait to be surprised, not all the hosts walk on two legs!

 

TIME: 5pm - 9pm

LOCATION: PCEC Riverside Theatre & Summer Gardens

OFF TO THE BEACH ...

With this much coastline, the ocean isn’t scenery, it’s an invitation. 

Golden sand under your feet, timed perfectly with one of WA’s legendary sunsets, drinks in hand, music in the air, and everyone letting their hair down. No swimming, but plenty of atmosphere. 

And if you feel like you’re being watched … you might be!
 
Keep your eyes peeled for Trevor, our most infamous local tiger shark, who has developed a surprising media career and may or may not be watching proceedings from a respectful distance.
 
Think of Trevor as quality control.

 

TIME: 5pm for 6:15pm sunset - 10pm
TRANSPORT: Delegates will be transported from the PCEC to the location
LOCATION: Coast Port Beach - Fremantle

The Gala Dinner - sponsored by Shiseido -  is the night of nights, where the world comes together at the edge of the map.

 

Celebrating cosmetic science; the winners, the ideas, the debates, and the unforgettable connections that make IFSCC what it is.

 

Expect elegance, energy, just the right amount of sparkle with conversations that start with science and end with “remember that night in Perth?”
